At one point in time...

Last week Z. said, " You haven't cried in awhile."
I've been thinking a lot lately about the emotional highs and lows that I used to experience.
At one time a large majority of my artwork was fueled by those intense emotional  sensations and personal dramas.
And now I don't know where they went.
Everything seems OK and calm and content and fine and settled.
It's like all that intense emotion has just subdued it's color to creams, greys and dusty blue fog.

I do still cry, by heartfelt words, by hugs with perfect timing, movies, well written chapters, certain works of art, but these seem like perfectly normal kinds of stirrings.
It seems like my 30's are going to be this way.
Cool  and collected.
Hand sewn skirts, bike to work, wind in my face, thrift store bouts, packages to friends, afternoon naps, records on deck, quiet nights with the pencils and inks, stacks of good reads and sunny windows.
